Emily Thornberry ROASTED for claiming Brexiteers voted to take their neighbour's job away

The Labour MP was ridiculed by members of the audience and branded “ludicrous” over her anti-Brexit remarks.

Amid the mass booing, she went on: “The Government primary responsibility is the safety of it’s people and the secondary responsibility is that we have a decent economy.

“If this economy goes south then those who are just about making ends meet will be the ones who suffer most.”

But her pro-EU speech was met by a scathing backlash from members of the audience.

One member – who was asked if she had voted to take her neighbour’s job away – said: “No I voted to take Emily’s job away.”

Her retort was met with rapturous applause as she set out why she voted to leave the crumbling union.

She said: “People who voted to leave the EU are not stupid, we did some informed research and based my vote on that.

“I voted to leave the single market

“Theres a bigger world out there. There’s so much more opportunities than in Europe and there is no growth in Europe.”

World and Pensions Secretary Damian Green said Whitehall must respect the result on June 23.

He said: “People voting on June 23, they were clearly voting for more control.

“If there are people who regret the result and want to use parliamentary procedures to block Brexit – I can only say that I was on the board of the In campaign and no one campaign more than me to keep us in.

“But I am democrat and the British people voted to get outing I think we should respect that referendum result.”
