Nigel Farage mistaken for LABOUR Brexit pioneer in awkward live gaffe

A pastor spoke to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about his admiration for the tycoon, and hailed Farage for his work on Brexit – but it didn’t quite go to plan.

“What a wonderful thing Nigel Farage and the Labour party has done with Brexit!” he beamed, oblivious to the fact that Farage was working with UKIP – not Labour.

Phillip could be heard trying to interject as he continued to talk highly of the 52-year-old politician, and eventually said: “Obviously [it was] multi-party in and multi-party out as far as Brexit was concerned.”

The pastor later said when asked if he expects Trump to win today’s US election: “100%! We are going to win tonight.”

Farage – who allegedly declined a £1 million offer to compete in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – agreed: “I have the same feeling I had the Brexit morning. I have a feeling we are in for another big surprise.”

Even Selina Scott, on the programme to support Hillary Clinton, conceded that she expects Trump to enter the White House.

“I said I expect him to win when he first went for the Republican nomination,” she admitted.

“I still think he will win because of the way he makes people like Nigel Farage and that gentleman behave.”

Over 100 million Americans are expected to vote today, with 42 million having already cast their ballot in advance.

Hillary Clinton remains marginally ahead in the final polls, but last-minute momentum from Trump in recent days will give the Democrats cause for concern until the results are revealed.

This Morning airs at 10:30am on weekdays on ITV.
